Neighbor Gifts: Sweet Treats to Share
A baker's guide to gifting baked goods to your neighbors, with FREE printable gift tags.

There’s something truly heartwarming about sharing a homemade treat with your neighbors. It’s a simple gesture that can brighten someone’s day and foster a sense of community. We love the yearly tradition of sharing breads with our neighbors around us, and I’m excited to share a few favorites here!

1. Loaves of Breads

East Artisan Bread, No Knead Garlic Rosemary Bread, or Sourdough Loaf
With little ingredients, little time, little tools, and little effort, you can make your own artisan bread from home. This bread has a perfect crusty exterior and an incredibly soft interior.

Items to achieve this gift look:

Cinnamon Chip Bread or Classic White Bread:
A classic white sandwich bread is always appreciated, perfect for toast, sandwiches, or French toast. For a holiday twist, try cinnamon chip bread, filled with sweet cinnamon chips and baked to golden perfection.

Loaf size: I typically get 2 9×5 loaves out of a single batch recipe. It doubles and triples well, but I’ve found if I use these slightly smaller 7.75×3.75 pans, I can stretch the batch and get 3 still generous size loaves. Helps maximize that effort and batches to allow you to share with more neighbors.

2. Dinner Rolls

Dinner Rolls:
These incredible soft, fluffy, and buttery rolls are the star at dinner time. Perfect to give to a neighbor with a jar of homemade jam! And this makes a lot, so it’s an easy and efficient way to share with a few neighbors. Double the batch and you’ll have plenty to share with your closest neighbors!

  • Cranberry Orange Rolls: A harmonious blend of tart cranberries and sweet orange, wrapped up in a pillowy cloud of dough, and topped with a sweet glaze. A delightful holiday treat for any occasion.
  • Raspberry Rolls: A soft, tender dough all wrapped up with a homemade raspberry filling and topped with a light cream cheese frosting.
  • Cinnamon Rolls: Soft and gooey cinnamon rolls that put Cinnabon to the test! They’re so easy and you can even prep them overnight which make them a go to for Christmas morning (let’s be honest, any morning!).
