Homemade Croutons
Easy, delicious croutons that you can use from an extra slice of bread you have lying around. Stale? Even better!

- 3 cups stale bead (leftover sourdough, artisan, or french bread tastes delicious)
- ¼ cup salted butter or olive oil (I like using half of each)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 3 TB parmesan cheese freshly grated
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Cut up bread in small chunks to create about 3 cups.
Melt 2 TB of butter and mix with 2 TB olive oil (or do all of one kind) in a small bowl. Add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and fresh parmesan cheese. Mix together.
Add the butter mixture to the bead pieces and gently toss together until the bread is evenly coated.
Spread evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 10 minutes. Give it a gentle toss and bake for another 5-10 minutes, until lightly golden brown.
Top salad with croutons and store any leftovers in an airtight bag/container.
